I started the day off way too early and I wish I had slept in, only because I was dead for the whole day. Ally and I were supposed to meet one of her friends at Sacre Coeur at 10ish but when we got to the metro, I realized I forgot my wallet. So I had to send Ally off toward Sacre Coeur with the phone and head back home to get my wallet.
I tried to find Ally once I got to Sacre Coeur, but I didn't have the phone and then I realized I didn't even know our number or have it written down. I waited around the front for awhile to see if I ran into them, but then I decided I would just look around and enjoy the area on my own.
That area is a crazy area with people hassling you to buy stuff everywhere. There are these guys who come up and try to tie bracelets to your arm. It was a little nerve racking, but I just walked on by moving them out of the way. There are gypsies everywhere begging and trying to get you to sign some sort of petition. They stand in your way and you just have to totally ignore them and walk through. Then there are the artist at the top of the hill. They try to flatter you by telling you how beautiful you are and that they need to draw you. I find it funny how many people were getting caught in these tourist traps.
I headed back toward the institute because I figured I could find something to eat and find something to do over there until class, which was at 2:30 at the Louvre. I called Ally from one of the other girl's phone and she said they were just finishing. We have been craving mexican food for a few days now and we looked up some good places in the city. We tried to go to this place called Fajatia, but they are only open Tuesday through Saturday. We figured we had time before class, so we decided to meet there.
It was so good! I am so glad we went. It is going to become a regular place we go when we feel like home. I had an appetizer chicken nachoes and that totally filled me up. Man, I can't get over how good it was!
We went to class today and I think I died. The class is interesting, but it is just so long, and detailed, and you have to stand for HOURS!!!! I really just can't handle that. I feel like walking for three hours would be better. By an hour and a half the blood seems to have stopped flowing and it is just pounding in my feet and back. How can I possible try to learn about a subject I don't really care about while I am dying? I don't have an answer. If you do, please share.
Tomorrow we are suppose to be on a train at 7h28. We have to be there at 7h and leave the house at 6h30. So it will be a great morning now that it is 12:15 in the morning and I am still up. Whatever. I will sleep on the train. We are going on a group trip to some other parts of Southern France. I will be back Saturday night, so I guess we will see if there are any blog posts before then! I'll take lots of pictures!
A bad day in Paris still sounds better than most days anywhere else! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great trip!
