Wow I can't believe it is day 50! I have just over a month left. I can't believe that it is going to be November soon! What a whirlwind of a year it has been, but more on that in another post. Today was surprisingly good Maybe it was because of my attitude adjustment last night, maybe because i slept more than I thought I would last night, or maybe because I got to take a three (okay maybe four) hour nap!
Late last night I finished my take-home mid-term. It wasn't super bad, just boring and tedious to do, however today in class it paid off. I actually knew what we were talking about! That might have helped make it less boring. I thought that having it in the morning wouldn't have made a difference to how I felt, but it did. I had more energy and was not dying by the half way point. I enjoyed learning about certain painters. My favorite today was Watteau. He was a Rococo painter and I think the paintings I saw of his were gorgeous and they just captured my attention and imagination.
After the Louvre Ally and I did a Paris walk. We first went to the Louvre des Antiquaries, then walked past the Counsil d'Etat, and headed to Palais Royal. Next was the national Library, then the covered passages. It was a pretty walk. We stopped for lunch at this little pizza place and it was so good. We had pasta and loved it! I am excited for Italy next week.
We had dinner with our French family tonight and they are great! I realized that even though I feel like we can barely communicate and they don't know very much about me and I don't know very muc about them, I do really like them and I will miss them when I go home.
We leave for Belgium with the group from Gare du Nord at 7h28 tomorrow morning. It is now 1h00 in the morning, so it is going to be a lovely time getting up. We are only going for one night and we are taking the train there. I will just sleep on the train. I guess I should start packing!
