Day 71

There are things that are happening that make me realize how soon I am going home, and today I am slightly sad about it. 1. My parents and Cam are coming on Friday. 2. It is winter here. 3.I am saying good-bye to things. 4. I am rushing to do all the things I have to do before I get home. 5. We are taking our last group trip tomorrow. 6. I am starting to worry about finals.

1. My family will all be in Paris on Friday! All five of us! I am so excited! I don't know if we will all be together, because we all have such different schedules. But the parents and the little are getting in at 7:30 in the morning and I will be getting back from Loire Valley at 8:00pm. So I will just go and see them at their hotel when I arrive on the train. The reason this makes me feel like I am nearing the end of my trip is because my parents were coming at the end of my trip, so that is weird that they are now coming. It has always been this far off event and now it is hear.

2. It is winter here. It is cold. once again it was one of those things that would happen at the end, and I am cold everyday. I am sick of coats, hats, scarves and gloves. I guess It will be a good prep for winter in Provo.

3. Today I said good -bye to the Musee D'Orsay. I am making my last visits to places and it is sad. I saw all there is to see at the Musee D'Orsay, well mostly, and I probably will not be going back, so I admired that old train station for the last time today.

4. I am rushing to do things. I feel like Paris has turned into my Rome trip. I am planning the next two weeks like the were our trip to Italy. Everything has to be a whirlwind. Not really, but I just realize that I am running out of time.

5. We are going on our last group trip tomorrow. We are going to the Loire Valley to see a ton of castles. Everything I have heard and seen about this place seems to be amazing. I am sure the trip will be great, but it is also weird that this will be the last over night I have with the group. No more Etap Hotels, no more dead Annie, no more anything. Some days this would be the best news ever lol but today I am sad that I will not be with all these people.

6. And like the end of any semester I am starting to worry about finals. I have one final next week and then three more the week after. I think that it will be fine, but it is just not super fun.

Anyways, today I went to art history class and it was enjoyable. It was at the institute and it was a review of all the art we have studied for the semester. I was surprised at how much I knew. It was cool to be able to talk about all of it and know semi what was going on.

After class I took a day to myself in the museums. I went to the Orangeries and to the D'Orsay. It was lovely to have some time to myself and to reflect on the stuff I had learned in the class.

New Ferris Wheel is up in the Place de la Concorde
Monet paintings in the Musee Orangeries

Notre Dame and the Louvre along the Seine. I love it here!
But I was happy to see Thomas Jefferson had a place here too. I will be glad to go home.

  1. I'm excited for you to come home Britt! I feel like I've been in Paris all this time as I've followed your blog. You've seen some beautiful places for sure. But, I've so enjoyed reading all the things that you've learned about yourself this semester. You are an awesome young woman with wonderful qualities and a testimony of the Savior and His gospel. I LOVE YOU TO PIECES!
